Matthew Bramhall - Lever (picture taken around 9:30am on 09/04/13)
This is an example of a first-class lever, where the fulcrum is near the end of the switch in the wall; the effort is applied near the exposed end of the switch in order to move the electrical contacts attached to the covered end in order to make or break the internal circuit.
